The high-end Chinese build you've been eyeing — sourced, imported & built for you.
You've done the homework. You know Winspace, Yoeleo and Elitewheels punch way above their price — you just don't want to gamble on AliExpress, wrangle customs, or build it on your kitchen floor. So don't. Tell me the bike; I source it, import it (duties and all), build it to spec and quality-check it. One all-in price, no tools, no risk on your side — and a Seattle rider you can actually talk to.
How it works
A quick video call and emails. We figure out the bike together — no commitment, nothing charged.
Spec it in the configurator and watch real weights, prices and trade-offs update as you go.
I source every part, import it with duties handled, then assemble and quality-check the whole bike.
Shipped to your door — or meet up for the final fit here in Seattle. That's the whole job.
You make the fun calls
Pick the frame, the groupset, the wheels — the decisions you actually enjoy. Sourcing, importing, customs & duties, currency, the build and the QC are mine. You never touch a tool or a customs form.
Specced like an engineer
Every part is scored on weight, value and reliability — with a confidence level shown — and your price is all-in and itemized. No marketing gloss, just the numbers, so you can geek out and decide.
Local, low-volume, all-weather
Run out of Seattle, a handful of builds a month, so each one gets real attention — specced for how we actually ride here, wet and year-round. Ship to your door, or do the final fit in person.
Vellum isn't a faceless company — it's one Seattle rider who's a little too into high-end Chinese carbon, doing a small number of builds a month (partly to fund an unreasonable personal bike habit). Low volume is the point: I only take on what I can personally see through, and I'd rather turn work away than rush yours.
You won't wire money to a stranger and cross your fingers. We get on a video call and trade emails first — you deal with me directly, not a support queue — so you know exactly who you're working with and what you're getting before you pay anything. Local enough to grab a coffee and talk bikes if you'd rather.
A real video call and email back-and-forth before you commit a cent. No anonymous one-click checkout.
You pay by card through Stripe, so your normal card protections apply — including disputing the charge with your bank if a build isn't delivered as agreed.
The deposit just reserves your slot and comes off your final invoice. You settle the balance as the build comes together — never everything upfront.
